Can i put a fart can on my 1980 honda xr80 4 stroke?

hi i have a 1980 honda xr80 4 stroke dirtbike and i have a fart can i was outting on my firefly but decided not to so i was wondering if i could put this fart can on my dirtbike? its straight threw and has a 4 inch outlet or what ever you want to call it. and if i can with out wrecking my engine what would it sound like?
