Can anyone identify this bug?

I think they've been coming in through a hole by my ceiling fan, suggesting that they're breeding in my attic. They look a lot like fireflies, except that they are all black and don't have light-up butts. They move pretty quickly, and fly around every few seconds. I live in the Chicagoland area, if that helps.
